Attaché Accounts: Suppliers end of period has frozen / stalled / crashed

When ageing my suppliers the process crashed / stopped working. I am running end of month for suppliers, and it looks like it has stalled.

Suppliers End of Period can take a VERY long time to process depending on the size of your Suppliers Transactions table, the resources available on your server, and other environmental factors.

It may look like the Suppliers End of Period (Suppliers, Period End, End of Period, Suppliers) has crashed or stopped working. However, you should wait for an extended period, even though it may be quite a lot longer than prior months. For example, at least 15-30 minutes.

If after that wait time, the process still looks like it has failed then do the following:

  1. Terminate the End of Period process within Attaché (wait a few minutes to see if it responds)

    • if you can do this, and Attaché works afterwards without closing and restarting the program, then it is likely Attaché was still processing data and as a result you may now have lost data.

    • Restore at step 3 is still recommended, unless your Suppliers Aged Trial Balance still lists all Supplier outstanding amounts and your last Supplier still contains all transactions in the Masterfile Trans F5 listing.

  2. If you cannot stop the End of Period process within Attaché, close it through Windows Task Manager, or if you use Evo follow force Attaché on Access Evo to close.

  3. Restore your Attaché accounts data to a point before you started Suppliers End of Period.
