There are a number of things which may lead to the period end taking longer, these include:
A lot of history transactions being held in the company. You may wish to do some housekeeping to delete history transactions older than 18 months from the system. Note: This is normally done in conjunction with End of year procedures. You may also wish to book a consultant to assist with this. See:
Large volumes of current year transactions, in which case the period end will slow down over the course of the year.
Limited Network resources. Hardware or Ram on the server and workstation may lead to slower processing especially when the system is in heavy use by other users. See: Server prerequisite hardware requirements.
Anti-Virus exclusions for Attaché not in place.
Network Permissions not being set up to give Attaché users admin rights and full read write access to Attaché folders and Directories. This is something your IT can check for you. See: Find Attaché technical information.
