Attaché Payroll: Error: 'Unchecked pays exist. Do you want to continue?'

Updated over 2 months ago

You will get the 'unchecked pays exist' warning message:

  • If there are time sheets and adjustments that are not checked (either deliberately or in error).

  • If there has been a partial update of the data leaving 'Active' transaction lines in the Transaction file.

If you have time sheets and adjustment pays that are deliberately unchecked because they are not part of this pay run (for example, the employees are on a different pay frequency) then you can ignore the message. It is simply there as a check before proceeding.

To check if pays are unchecked

  1. Uncheck pays and check pays again, this time ensuring you include all frequencies have not added any ranges. Auto pays, Adjustments and Time sheets should all be selected.

  2. Once any current Pay Process has been completed, go to Check Pays and select No to Auto Pays and Yes to Time sheets and Adjustments. Make sure there are no other ranges selected, and all frequencies have been selected. All unchecked pays will be checked and will be listed on the Pre-process Pay Details report.

  3. If no pays show up as unchecked it will most likely be due to a partial update of a transaction

If you cannot find unchecked pays

  1. Determine how long this message has been occurring. If it has only been during the current pay, then restoring from your backup is the best course of action.

  2. Otherwise, you can use ODBC to extract the Employee Transaction table and filter on Transaction Types of type A for Active. Any transactions listed when no pays are appearing in a checked listing will be the cause of the problem. It may be possible to access these pays and delete the lines. If not, note the processing date of the pay.

It may be necessary to restore a backup from prior to this error; however, we recommend you raise a new case online and reference the title of this article. A support consultant may be able to provide an alternative workaround to resolve the issue

For more details on installing and using Attaché ODBC, see the Attaché Server ODBC Installation Guide.
