Standard tasks for processing pays in Attaché Payroll

Whether you are a new starter with Attaché Payroll or an old hand, the Process Pays workflow is a crucial feature that you need to understand to avoid potential issues and errors arising from incorrectly processed pays.



​ Accessing the Process Pays Workflow

The Process Pays workflow is accessed from Payroll, Workflows, Process Pays.

📌 Notes:

  • The tasks involved in processing pays in Attaché.

  • The order they should be performed.

  • Regardless of whether you are processing individual pays, multiple pays, or adjustment pays, the Attaché Payroll pay process is the same.

  • The Tasks in the Workflow section below describe:

    • Each button/task in the workflow

    • The Attaché Payroll program that launches when the button is clicked.

    • The Menu path to each program

  • The arrows between each button in the workflow direct the task ordering.

The Process Pays workflow screen is shown in the screen shot below.


Task buttons in the Workflow:

The task buttons in the Process Pays workflow link to the core programs used to process a pay Attaché Payroll. Each program and menu path are listed below:

  1. Create Archive:

    • Clicking this button launches File, Archive Current Company.

    • This pre-pay processing archive backup you can restore from if you need to.

    • This archive is helpful for sites that have a large payroll. i.e. where an issue or mistake has been discovered in a current pay, and it will be easier to restore data and start the pay run again from ground zero.

  2. Create/Modify Timesheets:

    • Clicking this button launches Create or Modify Timesheets from the menu Payroll, Transactions, Timesheets, Create or Modify.

    • Allows to create individual employee timesheets that vary from the standard/AutoPay's.

    • Modify individual employee standard timesheets that are not currently checked.

  3. Check Pays:

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Transactions Check Payroll, Check Pays.

    • Allows you to mark created Timesheets, Adjustments or AutoPay's to be paid.

    • Allows entry of the Date Paid and Pay Period Ending date.

  4. Print Pay Totals:

    • Clicking this button launches the report from the menu Payroll, Reports, Pre-Process Pays, Pay Totals.

    • You run the pre-process pay totals report to check all pay totals are correct.

  5. Print Pay Details:

    • Clicking this button launches the report from the menu Payroll, Reports, Pre-Process Pays, Pay Details.

    • You run the pre-process pay details report to check individual line details for pre-processed pays.

  6. Create Bank File:

    • Once a pay is checked, this button launches Payroll, Reports, Pre-Process Reports, Bank Transfer,

    • This will create your bank transfer report and export file to upload to your bank website.

  7. Un-Check pays:

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Transactions Check Payroll, Un-Check Pays.

    • You run un-check pays if you have found a mistake in your pays, or there is an issue with the Bank Transfer file that needs to be resolved.

    • Note: You must run Un-check Pays to re-create the Bank Transfer report and file.

  8. Print Pay Advices:

    • Clicking this button launches the report from the menu Payroll, Reports, Pre-Process Pays, Pay Advices.

    • Creates and sends your pay advices prior to processing your pays.

  9. Create Archive:

    • Clicking this button launches File, Archive Current Company.

    • IMPORTANT! This step is Mandatory if you want to protect and be able to restore to your pre-processed payroll data.

    • Allows you to restore your intact pre-processed payroll data so that you can un-check pays and correct them, recreate the bank transfer file etc.

  10. Process Pays:

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Transactions, Process Payroll, Update Files.

    • This will:

      • Finalise your pay run.

      • Update leave balance tables.

      • Update PTD figures.

      • Allows updates to go through to connected Attaché systems i.e. Single Touch Payroll, Express Leave.

  11. Single Touch Payroll

    • Clicking this button launches the Attaché Online login page.

    • Allows you to access Single Touch Payroll in order to submit the STP batch that has been created from the processed pay.

The circular buttons link to the Masterfile Enquiry programs for Attaché Payroll. Each program and menu path are listed below:

  1. Employee Masterfile

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Enquire.

  2. Employee Bank Accounts

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Bank Accounts, Enquire.

  3. Employee Super Accounts

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Masterfiles, Super/Other Accounts, Enquire.

  4. Employee Standard Pays

    • Clicking this button launches Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Standard Pays, Enquire.
