Attaché: Request and install a new or updated Attaché Licence

Attaché Licence is due to or has expired, migration to a new server, licensing Attaché for the first time.

Within 30 days of your licence expiry date, you’ll see an expiry notification message when you log in to Attaché. To update your licence, you’ll need to:

  1. Request and obtain new or updated licence files.

  2. Install the new or updated licence files.

These tasks are described below.


Request a new or updated Attaché licence

  1. Send an email to: [email protected] and include the following information:

    • Whether you are using Attaché in our Cloud Hosted environment (CHS).

    • Which Attaché Software modules you are using. i.e. Accounts, Payroll, Asset Management etc.

    • Your Release (software Version) number and your VIP number. In Attaché, choose Help, About Attaché to find these.

  2. We will email your new or updated licence file to you.


To install the new or updated license files

  1. When you have received the email with your licence zip file attached, save the license zip file to an accessible folder on your computer. Attaché support suggests creating a separate folder called License within the Attaché program directory. To find the program directory, see: Find Attaché technical information.

  2. Within the License directory, right-click on the save file and choose Extract All.

  3. Click the Extract button to unzip the files.

  4. Ensure all users are logged out of Attaché.

  5. Start Attaché, sign on and choose Help, Update License.

  6. Type the location of the license files, or use Find (F2) to select the folder location and click Select.

  7. Choose Accept (F9). The license files are read into the system, and a message is displayed when finished.

  8. Choose File, Exit.

  9. Start Attaché and sign on.

  10. Go to Help, About Attaché

  11. Check that the Licence Expires line now reflects the correct expiry date.

📌 Note: If your new expiry date is correct but you received an error message either during the licence update or when you log in:

  1. Log back into Attaché and confirm that the problem has been resolved.
