Updated over 3 months ago

Attaché Cloud Hosted Services do monitor your Cloud Hosted server and do get alerts if diskspace is getting low. We will notify you if we find your disk space is nearing capacity, but it’s important for you to manage the disk space yourself.

There are various reasons for copying files to or from the hosted environment to your local computer, for example:

How to open CHS File Explorer

Copy methods

Each client machine has Attaché and File Explorer installed. You can use these to copy files. There are two methods, each described below. Note that in the methods below Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v are specifically used. Drag and Drop and Right Click+Copy do not work.

Method 1: Using side-by-side File Explorers (with Windows 10)

To copy a file from the hosted server to your local computer:

  1. Open File Explorer on the hosted server and on your local computer. (You can tell the difference between the two because the local file icon has an additional "redirection" symbol in your task bar).

  2. Place the two windows side by side, with the local File Explorer on the left and the hosted File Explorer on the right.

  3. In the hosted File Explorer, navigate to the file you wish to copy to your local computer.

  4. Left click the file and press Ctrl+c on your keyboard.

  5. In the local File Explorer, navigate to the folder where you want to put the copy of the file.

  6. Left click in the folder and press Ctrl+v on your keyboard.

  7. The file now copies from the hosted to the local folder. You can now open file in the local folder with the appropriate program.

🤓Tip: To copy a file from your local computer to the hosted server: use the above process but reverse steps 3 and 5 so that you are selecting the local file and copying it to the hosted server.

Method 2: From within the hosted server File Explorer (using Windows 10)

To copy a file from the hosted server to your local computer:

  1. Open File Explorer in the hosted environment.

  2. The \Apps\ folder, which contains the Attache application, automatically opens.

  3. In the hosted File Explorer, navigate to the file you wish to copy to your local computer.

  4. Left click the file once and press Ctrl+c on your keyboard.

  5. Below This PC in the navigation pane, click or browse to your redirected (local) drive, typically this is the C: drive.

  6. Left click the local folder and and press Ctrl+v on your keyboard.

  7. The file now copies from the hosted server to the folder you specified on your local computer. You can now open file in the local folder with the appropriate program.

How to pin local folders to Quick Access

You can also pin local folders to your CHS File Explorer to Quick Access. This can be used to save time by not having to navigate to your local folder when saving or exporting items from Attaché. To pin local folders to Quick Access:

  1. Open CHS File Explorer.

  2. Navigate until you see the local folder you would like to pin.

  3. Click the local folder once.

  4. Click Home.

  5. Click Pin to Quick Access.
