You can now zero out employee year-to-date amounts in a Single Touch Payroll batch for an employee or group of employees with the new Zero Out feature. This may be needed if:
There is an issue with a STP batch that needs to be resolved.
To enable this feature, you will need to raise a new case online and reference the title of this article. Include the following details in the case:
VIP number.
Organisation Name.
Company Name.
Zeroing out Employee YTD figures
Once the Zero Out feature has been enabled, the steps to use it are as follows:
In Single Touch Payroll, open the most recent ATO Confirmed batch.
From the Options button, click Zero out this batch.
This opens up the new STP Zero Out selector window which can be used to select a single employee, a group of employees or all employees in the company to be zeroed out.
After you've made your selections, click OK to zero out the selected employees.
If you then open the Individual batch screen again, it will show the number of employees to be zeroed out in the current batch, as well as the number of employees previously zeroed out.
Sign and submit the batch as normal.
Reinstating employee YTD amounts that have been zeroed out previously
You can reinstate the year-to-date amounts for an employee if they no longer need to be zeroed out. to do this:
Click the X icon next to the zeroed-out employee's name to reinstate their YTD amounts.
Click OK to save the changes. The employees YTD figures will then be reinstated.
Sign and submit the batch again to include the re-instated YTD amounts.
Note: Zeroed out employees will also show in the employee listing section within STP batch screen with $0.00 for their year-to-date earnings and are removed from the STP Reconciliation Report.
