Updated over a month ago

You can now zero out employee year-to-date amounts in a Single Touch Payroll batch for an employee or group of employees with the new Zero Out feature. To enable this feature, you will need to raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.

This may be needed if there is an issue with a STP batch that needs to be resolved, or you are moving from Attaché to a new payroll software.

Once this has been enabled, the steps to use the feature are as follows:

  1. In Single Touch Payroll, open the most recent ATO Confirmed batch.

  2. From the Options button, click Zero out this batch.

  3. This opens up the new STP Zero Out selector window which can be used to select a single employee, a group of employees or all employees in the company to be zeroed out.

  4. After you've made your selections, click OK to zero out the selected employees.

  5. If you then open the Individual batch screen again, it will show the number of employees to be zeroed out in the current batch, as well as the number of employees previously zeroed out.

  6. Sign and submit the batch as normal.

You can reinstate the year-to-date amounts for an employee if they no longer need to be zeroed out. to do this:

  1. Click the X icon next to the zeroed-out employee's name to reinstate their YTD amounts.

  1. Click OK to save the changes. The employees YTD figures will then be reinstated.

  2. Sign and submit the batch again to include the re-instated YTD amounts.
