Attaché: Error: "128 ctree logon error"

Error 128 usually occurs when the Attache database service is not running. You may require your IT Administrator to assist.


Step 1. Check the Attache Database Server is running

  1. Go to Start and Search. Look for Services.msc.

  2. Check to see if Attache Database Server is started. If Stopped, restart the Attache Database Server.



Step 2. If the issue continues

  1. Go to Start, Computer.

  2. Right Click Computer and Select Manage.

  3. In Computer Management, Select Event Viewer and Windows Logs and see if there are any logs associated with Attache Database Server.



Step 3 - If no Windows Logs

  1. Close Attache.

  2. Go into Control Panel, Programs and Features.

  3. Find Attaché Server 32/64 bit in the list.

  4. Confirm the Version from the version column.

  5. From Release Notes section in the Attaché Help Centre, find your corresponding Attaché version release notes. Download the Access Attaché Database Server file from the release notes.

  6. Uninstall Attache Server 32/64 bit.

  7. Reboot the server.

  8. Reboot the Server.

  9. Start the Service and see if the issue returns.
