Keystroke file import files (KFI) need to saved in the correct file format.
Regardless of the type of KFI you created (CSV or XML), when selecting the file to import, the application defaults to looking for *.kfi file types.
Notes prior to running a KFI Import
To import any information in Attache through KFI you need a KFI template in the correct format to be ready with data in it.
If you are using standard KFI you can use a different extension, such as .CSV, as the data within the file is already structured.
If you are using KFI in Unattended mode, you must name your files using the .kfi file extension. See: Setup a new KFI inbox for unattended KFI.
Ensure that the user has menu access rights to Keystroke File Import on the File menu, and also to the required Attache tasks. To set up or change menu access rights:
Choose Setups, Company, Menu Access, Menu Access Rights.
Ensure that the user has menu access to Keystroke File Import on the File menu, and also to the required Attaché tasks. See also: Change menu access rights.
Attache Software recommends that you back up your company data prior to running an import of the data. If a KFI does not complete successfully or you are not satisfied with the results, you can then restore the data from the backup. See: Create an archive and find the archive file.
