Error: 'A problem has occurred with the Attache Database Server and/or the Attache Service API'
Error Details: 'API server unable to connect to the remote server', 'Something has gone wrong! Please talk to your Access consultant or contact Access Support'
If you are experiencing any of the errors above, you will need to check the following items below to resolve the issue.
Check Attaché Services are running correctly
To resolve this, see Attaché: Attaché: Restart/check the Attaché services are running (API & Database)
Incorrect configuration of the data connection string in AttDBHostSettings.exe
To check and re-configure the data connection string in the AttDBHostSettings.exe program see: Manual entry of data connection string (Attaché workstation).
Anti-Virus is impeding the running of Attaché
Test turning off your Anti-Virus program to see if the issue then goes away.
Ensure any Antivirus is not running on the server AND the workstation you are testing on. i.e. close the AV program down completely, and do not leave any AV services running. Just pausing AV does not resolve the issue, as it will still be running in the background.
Re-test opening Attaché.
If Attaché opens ok, then set an exclusion in your AV program to the Attaché program executable file. See: Files to exclude in my antivirus software.
Check that the network connection is stable
Note: You may need to get your IT or Network admin person to do this.
Attaché does not recommend Wi-Fi connections to connect to your Attaché server.
Check that Microsoft Message Queuing service is enabled and running on the Attaché data server
To check this:
You may need to get your IT or Network admin person to do this.
Confirm that the Microsoft Message Queuing service is enabled and running under the services as the Attache API service is dependent on this service.
Check if a Proxy Server is being used on your network
You may need to get your IT support or Network admin person to confirm this.
If you are running a proxy server, check that Attaché is correctly configured to run without issue.
Disable IPV6 on the server
You may need to get your IT or Network admin person to do this.
Attache does NOT support the use of IPV6 TCP/IP communication. See: System and network prerequisite setup requirements.
To disable IPV6, see: Disable IPV6.
Assign a static IPV4 and DNS server to the local machine
You may need to get your IT or Network admin person to do this.
This option is an alternative to disabling your IPV6.
