Attaché Payroll (Australia): The Leave Liability Report

Updated over 3 months ago

The Leave Liability Report is a useful management tool that displays leave liability at:

  • A specific future date or,

  • The current leave accrual balances drawn from the Employee Masterfile.

  • The report will NOT do estimates for past dates, only future dates

  • The report can be created at any time but will not reflect current details until Payroll, Transactions, Process Payroll, Update Files has been run.

To report for an estimate of future leave liability

You can estimate leave accruals for all employees to any future date. To do this:

  1. Go to Payroll, Reports, Leave, Leave Liability.

  2. From the Options tab, select each option you require in the Print Leave Details task area for each Leave Type.

  3. Select the required Employee Statuses from the Employee Status Selection task area.

  4. Select the required options from the Report Options task area.

    • Set Estimate Accruals to a date as Yes.

    • Enter the Accrual Estimate Date. Note: Entering past dates may report incorrectly due to pay rate changes, leave calculations and varying pay frequencies.

    • Set the remaining checkboxes as required.

  5. Page Down to the Other Options tab.

  6. Set the Other Options tab, make the required selections.

  7. Page Down to the Ranges tab and make the required selections. You can create this report for all or a range of Employees, for all or a range of Pay Points, for all or a range of Surnames, or a range of Cost Centres. If values are set in the Ranges task areas, only details within the ranges specified display.

  8. Page Down to the Output tab and run to screen or print as required.

📌 NOTE: If you do NOT choose to estimate accruals to a particular date, the accrual current balances from each Employee's Masterfile will display. These are the days or hours an employee has actually accrued as at the last time they received a pay. There is also the option to display employees' accumulated RDOs, or their projected RDOs.

Displaying the Leave Liability report

  • The report displays: employee code, name, leave hours/days entitled, pro rata, contingent pro rata and a Total Accrued amount for each leave type.

  • A dollar value for each will be calculated.
