What can I check now so I'm prepared for Payday Super?

You don't need to wait until 1 July to start preparing for PayDay Superannuation. Here are some checks you can do now to help ensure a smooth transition.

General checks

Things you can do now to help your Payday Super transition

You do not have to wait until July 2026 to start making changes to your super contributions. There are items you can check now to be ready for Payday Super.

Update your employee details

  • Please review all employee superannuation details to ensure they are accurate.

  • We suggest asking that all employees confirm and sign off on the information you have on file to verify that the details listed below are correct.

  • The minimum required information would be:

    • Superannuation fund name.

    • USI/SPIN.

    • Australian Business Number (ABN).

    • First name.

    • Last name.

    • Date of birth.

    • Address.

    • Tax File Number.

    • For SMSF's, confirm ESA and bank account details.​


Update your employer details in relation to Payday super

⚠️Important for employers.

  • The ABN on the STP2 file, must match the ABN on the super file for the ATO to successfully match the data.

  • If you pay your salary and wages from a different ABN to your super payments, this will need to be addressed before submitting your STP.


Other General Checks

  • Check your Attaché version: You must be using as a minimum version 24.1.3. To find out what version you're using, see Find the Attaché version.

  • Check your menu style: You must be using the Modern menu in Attaché. This is mandatory for users that will be assisting with Payday super. To check or update your menu style, go to File, User Preferences and select Modern Style as the Preferred Menu Style.

  • How are you currently submitting information for super? The Super Export option will not be available from 1 July 2026. You'll need to set up and use the SAFF or ClickSuper options. See Setups to use Clicksuper or the Superstream Alternate File

  • Check employee details: The employee name, address, document delivery address and phone number is in the masterfile. See Use the List Wizard to export Masterfile details

  • Check the Superstream Reporting is set to ‘Employee Document Delivery Address’ in Options: Go to Setups, Payroll, Options, Payroll Options and then select the Tax Details tab.
