This error usually occurs when searching for a code using a look up field. The error means that the search value used to position the lookup list is 'out of range'. This may be due to the value entered for the search.
Depending on which search field the error occurred on, for example, when first starting a transaction such as the code field for a payment or invoice, then there may be no effect on the data. However, if the field was one within a data entry screen, then the transaction should be cancelled.
Do the following to check the dataset:
Exit all users.
Perform a data integrity check.
If no errors show at step 2, create an archive and then try to enter the transaction again. If no error occurs, then continue entering data as normal. If the error occurs again, proceed to step 4.
If errors are found at step 2, then the data should be restored using an archive that is error free.
