On the latest Tax File Declaration forms employees can now select to pay an extra percentage of their earnings as voluntary tax contributions. Previously there was only a value field to complete. The value field is available on the Tax Details page of the Masterfile. Enter the additional tax value per pay that the employee wants to contribute.
Currently there is no field to be able to enter a percentage of extra tax for an employee in Attache payroll.
Our recommendation is to request your employees:
Give you a value that they would like to contribute per pay and use the field available in the Masterfile.
Tell you a flat rate of tax that they want deducted from their pay generally. You would then need to set up a customised tax scale in Attache the same as sometimes requested by the ATO for employees. See Set up a customised tax scale.
