Attaché: Error: An error occurred in creating Attaché communicator interface

There are different reasons why the communicator interface error might occur. Please see below on the possible methods to resolve the issue. You may need your IT professional to assist.

  • Ensure the desktop shortcut is pointing to AttStartBI.exe. If not, a new workstation update will need to be done to resolve the issue. This can be done by running AttStartBI.exe from the Attaché application folder. To check the location of the application folder, refer to Find Attaché Technical Information.

  • Ensure Attaché is being used as a mapped drive rather than a UNC path. Refer to these articles:

  • Restart the Attache Services on the server where Attache is installed. Ensure all users are logged out of Attache prior to the restart.

  • Ensure the Attache workstation is the correct version and matches the Attache database version. This can be found and confirmed by opening Attaché on the server and checking in programs in the control panel. The workstation and the server must be updated to be running the same versions of the Attaché workstation.
