Attaché: Error: 'Microsoft .NET Framework Unhandled Exception has occurred'

Updated over 2 months ago
  • The full error is: Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Username\Appdata\Local\Temp\*'''.

  • This error occurs when using the Modern Menu style. It occurs because partially missing files are preventing the creation of replacement files in the local profile.

📌Note: the second part of the error can vary. For example:

    • 'Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index.'

Resolution for above errors

To resolve the issue, you will need to clear out user temp files for Attaché.

📌Note:

  • You will not lose any personal data.

  • The procedure below should stop these errors from occurring.

To clear out user temp files

  1. Close Attaché Software (Only your Attaché session is fine).

  2. Open Windows File Explorer.

  3. In the top of the file explorer (Address bar) type in %LocalAppData%.

  4. In this directory find folder 'Attache Software Australia Pty Ltd' right click and rename that folder to 'OLD Attache Software Australia Pty Ltd'.

  5. Re-open Attaché software (Attaché will take a little longer to load on first launch as its rebuilding the cache files).
