Attaché: When exporting reports from the preview screen Excel and Word icons are different and labelled as ODS Spreadsheet and ODT Document

After previewing a report to screen, the Excel and Word icons in the toolbar are different to the normal icons and when you hover over them, they display ODS Spreadsheet and ODT Document respectively.

This is occurring because of a setting within your user preferences. To resolve the issue and restore the Excel and Word icons, follow the steps below.

  1. Check that Microsoft Word and Excel are installed on the computer you are using by searching for them from the Windows Start Button and typing Excel and Word. If they are not found, ask your Network IT to get them installed for you before proceeding to step 2.

  2. Log in as a user with rights to access File, Maintain Users, Maintain. To allow a user rights to the Maintain Users menu, see: Create a new user login or manage existing user logins.

  3. Select the Username that is having the issue above.

  4. Click on the Preferences tab.

  5. In the Other Preferences task area, un-tick the option Use OpenDocument format (ODF) in ExpressLink.

  6. Click Accept (F9) to save the changes.

  7. Log out of Attaché and log back in and re-run the report preview to screen. The icons for Excel and Word should now be restored.
