When trying to export a report after previewing it via the ExpressLink toolbar, you might find the buttons for Word, Excel and Notepad are greyed out and can't be clicked, even though you have these Microsoft applications installed on your computer.

If the button is greyed out by 3 dashes where the Excel Icon usually is, this means that you need to update the user profile to the correct setting. To do this:
File, user maintenance, Modify.
Select the user and go to the Preferences tab.
On the right tick the Use Thinpoint in Expresslink checkbox and Accept.
log out of Attache and log back in again to confirm the Excel icon is now displaying correctly.
If you access Attaché by using Remote Desktop (RDP) to your server, you need to install the required Microsoft applications on the server.
