If Attache is very slow when closing the application and no company archive is running, the issue could be related to:
Speed issues with your network.
Your Attaché database user log files, where these log files have blown out in size.
To resolve speed issues in relation to the Attaché user log files
The Attaché user log files contain records of logins to your respective Attaché company(ies).
You may need your network IT support or internal network administrator to do the following, as often permissions to the Attaché Data folder location listed below are secured.
The procedure below should be done with all users out of Attaché.
⚠️Important: following the procedure below WILL lose historical records of users that logged into your Attaché Companies in the CURRENT data. to preserve these records as they currently stand, take an Archive of your data prior to performing the procedure below. See: Create an archive and find the archive file.
Navigate to the \AttacheServer\Data\AttacheProgram.dbs folder on your Attaché data server.
Locate and select the files userlog.dat and userlog.idx.
Confirm they are large files i.e. 35MB and above.
Stop the Attaché Services (See: Restart or check the Attaché services are running.
Delete the userlog.dat and userlog.idx files.
Re-start the 2 services.
📌Note: when you next log in the Attaché system will re-create the files automatically.
Open Attaché again, and then exit Attaché (no need to archive)
If Attache then closes quickly, the solution has worked.
