Attaché Payroll (Australia): Set up Long Service Leave for South Australian employees

Updated over 3 months ago

A worker in South Australia is entitled to 13 weeks of long service leave after completing 10 years of continuous service. A worker who has 10 years or more of continuous service is entitled to:

  • 13 calendar weeks leave in respect of the first 10 years of service

  • A pro-rata payment is available to a worker, upon leaving their employment, once they complete 7 years of service. The pro-rata payment is to be equal to the monetary equivalent of 1.3 weeks (9.1 days) leave in respect of each completed year of service.

  • 1.3 weeks (9.1 days) leave in respect of each subsequent year of service.

Setup of Leave Tables

You will need to set up 2 leave tables in the system:

  • LSLSA - for accruals up to 10 years of continual service

  • LSL2SA - for accruals for over 10 years

📌Note: You will need to manually change the long service leave table from the Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Maintain, Leave tab from LSLSA to LSL2SA after an employee completes 10 years of service.
