If you are experiencing an issue in Express Leave where Employee Details and/or Leave balances are not syncing correctly from Attaché Payroll for all Employees or just some or one employee, please follow the sections below that apply to your issue.
When set up correctly, leave balances and updated employee details will sync when an Express Leave administrator user logs into Express Leave.
If the issue is occurring for one or some employees only
Check the following scenarios below:
User record was created directly in Express Leave, not synced from Attaché Payroll
The user record has been created directly in Express Leave, and not in Payroll and then Synced to Express Leave as it should be. Note: in these instances, the Express Leave welcome email will be sent automatically.
You will be able to clearly identify a user in Express Leave like this in the Manage Users section, as the user record will NOT show a value of Yes in the Payroll User column. You will NEVER be able to sync details from Payroll to Express Leave if the user has been created directly in Express Leave.
A user record that has synced from Attaché payroll will always have the Payroll User value as Yes. If you require leave balances and details to sync from Payroll, the user record MUST be created in Payroll and not directly in Express Leave.

📌Note: in some cases (i.e., a contractor set up in Express Leave), you may not want any leave balances to sync with payroll. In this case, you would set up the user record directly in Express Leave.
It could also be the case that the user record that WAS originally synced to Express Leave was deleted, then manually added directly in Express Leave.
To resolve the issue:
Please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
The Express Leave administrator will then need to Delete the 'Non-Payroll' user employee record from the Manage Users area in Express Leave.
The Leave table is correctly set up in Attaché Payroll, Employee Masterfile Leave tab table
In Attaché Payroll, go to Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Maintain, Leave tab.
Check that the leave type that is missing in Express Leave shows in the employees leave table and is set up correctly, and the balances are correct.
Check Visible to settings for the Leave Type in Express Leave
Log into Express Leave as an administrator user.
Go to Company Admin, Leave Types.
Check the Visible To setting includes the user type that currently is not seeing the Leave balance. Use the Edit button to update this setting if required.
Resync Leave balances for all Express Leave users
To resync leave balances, log out and back into Express Leave as an administrator or HR Manager user, and the balances resync.
If no resync occurs, see the section below: Why hasn't the employee record synced to Express Leave.
Manually update the leave balance on Employee Masterfile to refresh Syncing to Express Leave
If for some reason the leave balances will still not sync, you can manually update the leave balance on the employee Masterfile. To do this:
In Attaché Payroll, go to Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Maintain, Leave tab.
For the required leave balance, overtype the same leave balance amount in the Entitlement Owing field.
A comments field will appear. Enter a comment to explain why you updated the leave balance i.e.: ' Updated to resync Express Leave balance'. This comment will show on the Leave History report as an audit trail.
Select Accept (F9) to save the change.
Log out and back into Express Leave and then confirm the leave balances are now correct.
If the issue is occurring to all employees
To resolve the issue:
Log into Express Leave as an Administrator user.
Go to the Company Details menu in the Company Admin menu section.
If at the bottom right you see a green button that says Connect to Organisation, you are NOT connected to the Attache Online organisation.
Click the button and follow the steps to log into Attache Online and connect to the AO organisation.
Once done, you should then see the sync balloons appear at the top right of the Express Leave screen.
Once they have gone away, check the Leave Balances in Manage Users and also the As At date is now showing as correct.
Why hasn't the employee record synced to Express Leave
There may be a connection issue between Attache Online and Express Leave that needs to be refreshed by disconnecting and reconnecting the organisation in Express Leave.
To resolve the issue:
Log into Express Leave as an Administrator user.
Go to the Company Details menu in the Company Admin menu section.
Select Disconnect for Access Attache Online Connection.
Select Yes to Confirm Disconnection.
Select Connect to Organisation.
Log In to continue to Express Leave.
Select the Radio Button for the Online Organisation to connect to.
Select Next.
Select Allow.
Wait for Data Sync to complete.
Go to Manage Users.
Search for the employee's name to check if the employees have now synced.
