Instructions for how to set up and use the File Launcher for MS Office to export reports from Attaché to your local computer

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When exporting reports from Attaché in our Cloud Hosted environment, you need to install the CHS File Launcher program on each local computer you plan to export Attaché reports to.

Installing the CHS File Launcher

Obtaining the installer file

CHSFileLauncherInstaller.msi needs to be installed on all local machines where Microsoft Office products are going to be used. It requires the 64-bit version of Windows.

Prerequisite

There is a Visual C++ redistributable which sometimes needs to be installed before File Launcher. To install this:

  1. Download the file VC_redist.x64.exe from this Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=52685.

  2. Once it is downloaded, run the executable as administrator.

Note: If you receive an error '0x80070666', this prerequisite is already installed, and you can ignore this.

  1. Once the Visual C++ redistributable has been installed you will need to restart your PC before installing CHSFileLauncherInstaller.msi.

Installation

  1. Once you have obtained the installer file, the installation process is as follows:
Double click CHSFileLauncherInstaller.msi (You may require administrator password which your IT will be able to assist you).

  2. Click Next and select the folder location for the install and if the install will be for all users or just the logged-in user. Note: It is recommended that the default folder location is used, and the install is for all users.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Yes. The CHS File Launcher Client will install.

  6. Click Close.
