Attaché PRO: Block and unblock user access to a company

You can block and unblock users from Attaché PRO if you have the required access rights. Users already logged in will be able to continue to work, but no other users will be able to login (except the user who blocked the access).

Use the block feature when taking backups, running file recoveries or processing end of period updates, as data corruption can occur if a user logs in while these processes are running.


To lock the company

  1. Select System, Block Access to Company.

  2. You can also add a message informing the users as to why access is blocked.

    📌Notes:

    • Blocking user access does not evict users from Attaché PRO, it simply stops additional users from logging in.

    • When you click OK, if other users are in the system, then you will be shown a list of active users.

    • If there are Users listed in the Attaché PRO, you will need to ask them to exit Attaché PRO.

    • Before beginning any essential tasks, you should always ensure that all users have exited out of Attaché PRO.

    • If a user tries to log in when company access is blocked, this message will appear:


To unlock the company

You have two ways of unlocking the company:

  1. Select System, Unblock access to Company or;

  2. Simply select Close or exit out of Attaché PRO.

  3. The following message will display, prompting you to unlock the company.

  4. If you select Yes to continue, Attaché PRO will close and the lock will be removed. If you select No, Attaché PRO will remain open and the lock on the Company will also remain.
