To set up a sick leave table for an employee in New Zealand payroll
Choose Setups, Payroll, Leave Tables, Maintain.
Set Income Category to Sick Leave.
Set Display in to Hours or Days (as preferred).
Set Calculate by to Date.
Set Entitlement to 10 Days and Entitlement Period to 1 Year (or equivalent).
Leave Termination % as 0.00.
Set Entitlement received on to Anniversary of Minimum Service Period.
Set Maximum Leave if required.
Set Minimum Service Period to 6 months.
Set Entitlement after Minimum Service Period to 5 days (or equivalent).
Click Accept (F9) to save the changes.
Changes to the employee Masterfile after you have reached the Minimum Service Period
After the 6-month minimum service period has been reached and the first SL in advance is added to the leave balance:
Go to Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Maintain.
Enter the Employee Code of the employee who has reached the 6-month minimum service period.
Go to the Leave Tab.
Update the Last Entitlement date for the Sick line.
For example, on the Sick line: if the Leave Start Date field currently displays as 01/01/24, and the entitlement was received on 01/07/24, change the Last Entitlement Date to be 01/07/2024. This means that the leave will then be given in advance on this anniversary date going forward rather than the Leave Start Date anniversary.
Click Accept(F9) to save the changes.
