Attaché Cloud Hosted Services: Error 'Windows cannot find 'Excel'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again.'

If you have set up a new CHS Attaché workstation & noticed this error, it could be because it's an issue with your office installation.

To check your setup, on your workstation:

  1. Check registry key exists: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\excel.exe

  2. Ensure the registry key is pointing to the correct Office / Excel .exe file (dependent on the installation path). E.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\EXCEL.EXE

  3. Potential other places to check if the error still occurs:

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations\UrlAssociations\file.

📌Note: If the above solution doesn't work, ask your IT Support to re-install the local client office installation.
