The Universities Accord Act 2025 received approval on 2nd August 2025. This Act changes how study and training support loans, compulsory repayments are calculated and increases the threshold at which a compulsory repayment is required for the 2025-26 financial year.
This will affect most individuals with a study and training support loan by reducing their compulsory repayment amount.
Attache Payroll will supply updated tax scales for calculating withholding from payments made on or after 24 September 2025. When the new updated Study and Training Loan repayments come into effect, there is no requirement to recalculate withholding that has already occurred on payments made before 24 September.
