Attaché Payroll (Australia): Super guarantee contributions not calculating for an employee

Updated over 3 months ago

Superannuation may not calculate for an employee in the following circumstances as per sections below.

There is no Employer Contribution (E) line on the employee's pay coded to a Super Contributions Code

  • To correct this, add an Employer Contribution line to the employee's Standard Pay (Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Standard Pays, Maintain) with the correct code.

  • Also remember to allocate a Super/Other Account code to allow electronic payment of Super.

The Employer Contribution line is corrupted and is not calculating the Super

  • To correct this, delete the line from the employee's Standard Pay and re-enter it with the correct code and allocate a Super/Other Account code.

For employees on high salaries, the employee may be over the Maximum super contribution base

  • In Setups, Payroll, Employer Contributions, Maintain, select the relevant Contribution Code and check the Quarterly Value Maximum threshold for Super.

  • Compare to the salary value for the Quarter, if the salary is higher, super will not calculate.

  • To allow higher contributions, change the value in this field to, for example: 999999. However, check with your Accountant whether the Contribution Type Code should be the same in this case. If not, then another employer Contribution Code should be used for excess required contributions.

Paying Super using OTE settings has missed a pay element

Standard Pay, Employee Contribution line is not linked to the employee Super/Other Account code
