You can restrict the dates each user is allowed to enter during transaction entry, helping to prevent unrealistic pre- or post-dated transactions. Date checking is configured per user in User Maintenance.
⚠️Important: If you use auto postings, Attaché recommends enabling date checking for all relevant users.
Open User Maintenance
To configure date checking, open the user record in User Maintenance.
Click File, then click Maintain Users.
Select the user you want to configure, then open their record.
Set the date checking option
You can choose from four date checking options depending on how strictly you want to control date entry for each user.
Allow any date — select this option if you do not want to activate date checking for the user.
Warn if beyond 60 days — select this option to display a brief information message in the Attaché status bar when the user enters a date outside the allowed range. The user can choose to enter a different date or continue.
Confirm if beyond 60 days — select this option to prompt the user when they enter a date outside the allowed range. The user must select Yes to continue, or No to return to the date field and enter a different date.
Don't allow if beyond 60 days — select this option to prevent the user from continuing if they enter a date outside the allowed range. A message will be displayed and the user must enter a different date.
📌Note: The default date range for all date checking options is 60 days before or after the Attaché system date.
Change the number of days (optional)
You can adjust the default 60-day range for an individual user if needed.
Locate the Number of days field in the user's record.
Enter the number of days you want to use as the allowed date range for that user.
Save the user record.
