To set up and pay overtime you will need to set up a new income type code which has the correct rate multiplier for each overtime rate. for example:
Time and a half.
Double time.
Double time and a half.
📌Note: these codes are standard and may already exist in your payroll company.
Set up a new Overtime Income Type Code.
Refer to Set up or edit an income type.
Use the Rate Multiplier field to enter the rate that the normal rate will be multiplied by.
Select the Overtime Income Category.
The Include in OTE checkbox should be unticked.
Entering Overtime in an employee timesheet
Refer to Timesheet transactions (PDF).
The Overtime code can be selected on a Normal line type on the timesheet.
If the rate is not a multiplier of the Normal rate, then the Other Rate line type can be used to enter the Rate and Hours for the employee.
If the Overtime income type code is used, then no super will calculate and the rate entered will be multiplied according to how the code is setup.
