Attaché Payroll (New Zealand): Reinstate a terminated employee

You cannot just reinstate a terminated employee in New Zealand payroll because the NZ History Report will be incorrect when calculating their Average Pay Rate for leave. Instead, you need to create a new employee Masterfile for the re-employed employee.

If you wish to use the same employee code for an employee who has been re-employed:

  1. Select Payroll, Masterfiles, Employee Details, Change Loc/Employee Code.

  2. Enter the Old Employee Code.

  3. Enter the New Code you wish to use. We recommend you preface their original code with a X, for example if the employee code was 001, enter a New Code of X001. This will transfer all the history for the employee to the new code.

  4. Choose Accept F9 to save.

  5. You can now use the original employee code in the new employee Masterfile for the re-employed employee.
