There are many reasons why one or more employees are not included in the Bank Transfer ABA file. The common issues and resolutions are listed below.
Sometimes the employees don't all show on the screen during the process, but they are all there. This is just a display issue. Once the process is completed check the Bank Transfer report that is generated, to see who is included.
No bank line in the employee's pay (or in the Standard Pay that the pay was created from)
Check that each pay to be included has a bank line, otherwise the pay will not be picked up in the ABA file. The standard pays for each employee should also have a bank line.
Incorrect settings in the Employee Masterfile
On the Pay Details tab of the employee Masterfile, check that the Company Bank Acct is correct and the Payment Method is set to Bank.
Incorrect settings in Employee Bank Accounts
In Employee Bank Accounts (Masterfiles, Payroll, Employee Bank Accounts, Maintain), check that the Allow Bank Disk Transfer and First Direct Bank Entry check boxes are selected for each employee.
Payment Required not selected in the first screen in Timesheets or Adjustments
In either the Timesheet Entry or Adjustment Entry, make sure the Payment Required check box is set to Yes.
Bank Transfer file is not created with 'No records selected' message when you run the Bank Transfer report
Destination Path folder not available or Folder Permissions do not allow the creation of the ABA file
Destination Path folder permissions need to be updated so the network user has Read/Write Access, or the Destination Path folder needs to be physically created.
If you are using Cloud Hosted Services, please see: Create bank files to my local computer on Cloud Hosted environment.
Other scenarios where the Bank Transfer file will not be created
The user has not accepted to write the file to the specified folder.
The user has selected to print the Bank Transfers but has not selected Yes to continue when they get the pop-up message Create (Bank) transfer file in (Location) Do you wish to continue? Yes No.
To re-run the Bank Transfer file after corrections/Setting changes have been made
Uncheck, and then re-Check your pays to pick up any changes you have made in relation to the items above.
If an ABA file has been previously created, you will need to un-check and re-check the pays to re-create the ABA file if changes had been made to Masterfile records or pays after the ABA file was originally created.
