Attaché Software supplies payroll tax scales for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and many Pacific Island nations. When your government introduces new tax scales, you can obtain an updated tax scales file by downloading it via the Attaché Payroll menu, as described below. For some countries, typically where there may be unreliable Internet connections, you can also download updated tax scales files from the Access Customer Success Portal.
Downloading new tax scales
The software downloads the tax scales file that matches the Country you have selected in Payroll Options and saves the file to your program folder. The new file is then ready for you to import to your Attaché Payroll companies. To download tax scales via the Attaché menu:
Choose Setups, Payroll, Tax Scales, Download Tax Scales from Web.
When asked 'Do you wish to download new tax scales from the Attaché website?' choose Yes.
The message "New tax scales have been successfully downloaded..." is displayed when the download is complete.
Importing new tax scales
📌Note: At end of year, do not import the new tax scales until after you have completed the last pay of the financial year and EOY processing. This does NOT apply to new tax scales that apply to dates during the financial year.
To import (activate) the new tax rates:
Choose Setups, Payroll, Options, Payroll Options and then the Tax Details tab. (In older versions of Attaché Payroll, Page Down to the second screen.)
Attaché recognises that new tax scales are available and displays a message asking if you want to import them. Choose Yes to import the new scales into the current company.
To check that the tax scales have updated properly, choose the Tax Details tab again and check that the Effective for Payments Date field is set to the date that the tax scales come into effect. (In older versions, this is located on the third screen.) Do not change this date for any reason.
If you have more than one payroll company, log in to each company and carry out the above steps.
