Attaché Accounts: Find a missing transaction in Bank Reconciliation

Find a missing transaction in Bank Reconciliation

Updated over 3 months ago

This article details how to find a missing transaction in Bank Reconciliation where:

  • Bank transactions are not showing up in general ledger in bank reconciliation.

  • Bank balance in general ledger is not the same as in bank account

  • A payment coded to bank doesn't show in bank reconciliation.

This relates to both the new bank reconciliation and 'Old Reconcile'. However, with the new bank reconciliation, the bank statement page number is not displayed anywhere.

If a transaction is not displaying on a statement page number you would expect it to be on, you can locate the transaction by running the General Ledger Transactions by Account report. To run this report:

  1. Go to General Ledger, Reports, Transactions, Transactions by account report

  2. In the First Account and Last Account fields, select the required bank account number.

  3. Sort further by Period, First/Last Transaction, or Date if you know what these may be.

  4. Click Submit to run the report.

  5. To find a particular transaction, you can use the Find (binoculars) icon to search on an amount, date, transaction number, etc. (Note: you must search on the exact text i.e. if an amount type '4,000.00' including the comma).

  6. Once the transaction has been located, confirm what Bank Page and Bank Ln is noted against the record.

  7. Once this is confirmed, go to General Ledger, Transactions, Bank Reconciliation, Old Reconcile.

    • Enter the Bank Code, and the Statement Number (Bank Page in step 6 above).

    • The transaction will be found on this Statement in the lower reconciled section.

  8. OR go to General Ledger, Transactions, Bank Reconciliation, Reconcile.
