Attaché Accounts: Set up a CashRegister number

Set up a cash register number to identify individual cash registers when there are more than one.

Updated over 4 months ago

If you have more than one register, you must set the register number for each one so that operators can use them concurrently and you can distinguish between them in the system and in reports. You can use either of two methods to set each register's number:

  • Add the environment variable ATREGISTER=NN to the computer attached to the register, where NN indicates the register number from 1 to 99.

  • Add a space followed by the lower case text "/cashregister=NN" to the end of the command line for the Attaché shortcut on the computer attached to the register. For example, the shortcut's Target box might read: C:\AttacheBI\AttstartBI.exe /cashregister=01

Please refer to your Windows documentation for information about adding environment variables or amending the properties of shortcuts.

📌Note: If you use both an environment variable and a modified shortcut, CashRegister ignores the environment variable. If you use neither, CashRegister assumes the register's number is 1.
