Field or group name

Description

Amount

V = Variable
F = Fixed


Variable will display the amount entered and allow you to change it during transaction entry.


Fixed will not allow the amount to be changed during transaction entry.

Quantity

Fixed
If the Quantity used to calculate this allowance never changes, enter the Quantity then select Fixed in the next field.


Variable
If the quantity used to calculate this allowance is usually the same for most employees but occasionally changes, enter the quantity usually used then select Variable in the next field. This displays the quantity in transaction entry and allows you to accept or change it.

If the quantity used to calculate this allowance is never or rarely the same, enter zero then select Variable in the next field. This allows you to enter the quantity in transaction entry.

Percent

Fixed
If the percentage used to calculate this allowance never changes, enter the percentage then select Fixed in the next field.


Variable
If the percentage used to calculate this allowance is usually the same for most employees but occasionally changes, enter the usual percentage then select Variable in the next field. This displays the percentage in transaction entry and allows you to accept or change it.

If the percentage used to calculate this allowance is never or rarely the same, enter zero then select Variable in the next field. This allows you to enter the percentage in transaction entry.

Rate

Rate is the value used where a quantity needs to be multiplied by a rate.
e.g. .80 cents per kilometre.


Fixed
If the Rate used to calculate this allowance never changes, enter the Rate then select Fixed in the next field.


Variable
If the Rate used to calculate this allowance is usually the same for most employees but occasionally changes, enter the Rate usually used then select Variable in the next field. This displays the rate in transaction entry and allows you to accept or change it.

If the Rate used to calculate this allowance is never or rarely the same, enter zero then select Variable in the next field. This allows you to enter the Rate in transaction entry.
